First Off – who the hell am I, how did I get here…

Hi, I’m Adrian and I run my own therapy practice helping people overcome Anxiety and Negative Emotions.

I love it!

But, I thought I needed some sort of ‘side hustle’. Something to boost my income to allow me to carry on doing what I love but give me some freedom and flexibility in life.

I also have the underlying worries of ‘what if I am ill?’ Sick me is a poor me. What if we are struck with another ‘pandemic’ and I’m unable to see clients again?

I’d heard of Affiliate Marketing, but everywhere I looked it all looked like hard work for pennies. ‘Get more traffic!’ seemed to be the mantra I kept seeing. That just put me right off. I’m not one for plastering myself all over social media. I feel a bit old for all that.

Then, I came across some free training that opened my eyes to a world where I could protect my finances, stress less about quiet days, and simply live more. I learned that there are a few Business Models related to having an Online Business but that Affiliate Marketing was the easiest to get started with.

I was still a little sceptical and I was looking out for ‘Get more traffic!’ but this looked like a different approach. So, I jumped in with both feet.

I followed the training step by step and built my own Affiliate Marketing business.

Honestly, it does take some effort, but with the expert guidance to hand it couldn’t be easier. And it’s so rewarding both mentally and in the bank account.

So, shall we get down to it and find out more?

1. Affiliate Marketing – What is it all about?

Quite simply it’s providing leads for other business/products for commission.

Let’s use an example.

In my practice, if I get a referral from a client and that client books in with me and spends money, I might want to reward the original client, perhaps to encourage them to do it again.

But how would I know where the new client came from? Who was it that referred them?

Easy, I give all my clients a unique code word that they pass on to their referral who then tells me that code word when they book in so I know where they came from and more importantly who to reward. I keep an up to date list of all my clients and their respective code words in a spreadsheet.

So how does this work online?

Suppose you’ve found a product or used an online service and you loved the experience. You ask the business owner for that unique code – now, online this comes to you in the form of an internet link. It’s called an Affiliate Link.

You then go off shouting about the product or service and if anyone is interested, you give them the Affiliate Link. If they end up buying through your link, you get paid a Commission.

That’s it!

There are millions of companies that offer Affiliate Marketing programmes now, as it’s seen as a modern way to increase their exposure online.

2. The Ups and Downs – What you really need to know

Ups

• Easy to Start & Scale: Many affiliate programmes are free to join. You don’t need to invest a lot to get started. Once you have found a profitable niche you can learn how to scale it up to gain maximum returns.
• Freedom: this is a big positive for many people. With Affliate Marketing you can quite literally work from anywhere. Live the life of a digital nomad if that is your desire. A laptop and an internet connection are the tools of your trade.
• No Team Building: Whilst it’s good to be part of a community you are not building a team as you would need to do for MLM/Network Marketing. MLM is Multi Level Marketing. Sometimes referred to as a Pyramid Scheme. Affiliate Marketing is not like that. You can simply focus on products and services that you have faith in and have used and build this into your personal brand.
• Passive Income Possibilities: Once set up your programmes can run on auto pilot, 24/7. You can wake up in the morning to earnings accrued overnight. How does that sound? Once you have a successful niche, scale it up and the potential can be enormous.
• Low Risk: When you become an Affiliate Marketer there’s no need to stock up on an inventory that needs storage and constant turnover to stay fresh. You simply promote online products and services such as with Amazons Affiliate Program, and earn commission on your sales.
• Extensive Market Place: You might be like me at first, worried that you have missed the boat and it’s all a bit late. But that’s really not the case. There were an estimated 3 billion shoppers online in 2023 and that is only continuing to grow. Also there are only a relatively small number comparatively, making a living marketing to those 3 billion. To make a reasonable income, you only really need to scratch the surface in a profitable niche.

Downs

• Risk in Promoting Low Quality Products: promoting the wrong things can damage your credibility. Stick with what you know to be good from personal experience and you will build a quality brand.
• Competition: I mentioned above that it’s never too late, but there is heavy competition in low hanging fruit. So, to stand out from the crowd and be heard above the noise, you need to learn proven strategies. • Income can be Unpredictable: Your earnings can fluctuate based on market trends, seasonality and product quality. Companies can cut the commission rates affecting your earnings or even close Affiliate programmes without notice.
• Scammers: As Affiliate Marketing is a boom industry so there will always be scammers ready to take your precious funds with promises of untold riches overnight. “Just use this simple trick and watch your earnings rocket” or “pay me thousands for the secret to online wealth and make it rich!” That’s why I chose the path I did. My gut instinct was to join up and allow them to train and guide me to online success. I’m so glad I did.

3. What is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing?

You may well be aware of individuals designated as Internet Influencers. These are people who have worked at and gained a huge following and can simply drop a link onto social media and get thousands of clicks earning small amounts that really add up.

But if you’re like me and don’t have a massive following of eager beavers what are we supposed to do?

How long does it take to build up that sort of following? What if you don’t want to flaunt yourself all over social media? (I don’t!)

Unfortunately, without that sort of following, you are unlikely to make a living promoting small ticket products.

So this is what we do. Find companies that offer bigger rewards for Affiliate Marketing (High Ticket), align yourself with them and build your reputation utilising these reputable organisations. By that I mean using companies that you trust and can honestly promote from the heart. This will garner trust in what you are saying and once people know, like and trust you, they are more likely to engage and try whatever it is you are promoting.

4. What’s the easiest & fastest way to get started?

The simple answer to this is to make sure you get the best guidance and mentorship that you can. As I said earlier, there are many folks out there making promises, they show you a few steps to scratch the surface and then leave you high and dry. Where do you turn to then? More promises?  

I’ve been down many rabbit holes, spent money where I shouldn’t have and compounded my disappointment. Then on one such search online, chasing yet another ‘idea’, I found the key.

I clicked a link that opened the door to where I am now and where I’m heading (the same link you’ll find just below here). I’m still new at this game and have much to learn, but it’s been great fun and I’ve joined a fantastic community of like-minded individuals who help each other every step of the way.

This is a skill you can learn and will help you become a clear voice in the general background noise. Becoming an authority in something requires nothing more than a genuine interest in that thing and a desire to genuinely promote it for what it’s really worth.

This new skill is easily acquired and is something you can learn too, just like I did. It will escalate your results and bring you in the income you desire, 24/7, without having to be all over social media all day every day.
